The Long Tail

A new review of The Truant Lover recently posted here on Rob McLennan’s interesting blog got me thinking about Chris Martin’s article published in Wired magazine some years ago. While poetry has never really thrived within (what Martin refers to as) hit-driven economics, it never ceases to amaze me that a volume of poetry can find new readers many years after the making. I’m reminded, too, of James Merrill’s definition of poetic success: finding one perfect reader.
